Clean Energy Solutions is a renewable energy company based in Los Angeles, California, that helps homeowners and businesses find solar solutions to fit their energy needs. Active in the development of the solar energy industry, Clean Energy Solutions is a member of the California Solar Energy Industries Association (CALSEIA).
In December 2017, CALSEIA celebrated a decision by the California Public Utilities Commission to move forward with the Solar on Multifamily Affordable Housing (SOMAH) Program, aimed at providing low-income residential families with access to solar energy. The 10-year program will provide as much as $100 million in energy incentives each year for low-income multifamily dwellings statewide.
An important part of the program is the opportunity it gives these families to save money on their utility bills. The new law allows tenants in multifamily properties to get credit for excess electricity solar energy systems produce each month. SOMAH also prevents landlords from increasing rent to compensate for the rebates.
